Memorandum 2010

On January 25, 2010 a memorandum of collaboration was concluded between the Ivane Javakhishvili History and Ethnology Institute and the History Teachers Association of Georgia. The sides of the memorandum intend to wider activities into fulfilling scientific and pedagogic potential and giving opportunities to new generations of historical education and in acquiring skills of a history teacher. The sides on the basis of equal collaboration rights will support the development of historical education and scientific researches.

The “Association” will ensure:

– To carry out joint projects to rise education level of history teaching in schools;

– The participation of the “Association” members into creating and developing the modern didactic science of history teaching in Georgia ;

– The participation of the “Association” members into establishing the national research centre of history textbook; with a perspective to establish such a centre in the south Caucasus too;

-To involve the “Association” members into creating and expertising of history textbooks for schools;

– The participation of the “Association” members in the re-qualification of history teachers;

– The use of the “Association” library by the “Institute” collaborators;
 – To include the “Institute” collaborators in current and future international and national projects of the “Association”;

-The mediating of the “Association” with European professional associations (EUROCLIO and its member sixty-four organizations of history teachers from Europe and other regions) and with other institutes and provide the “Institute” collaborators with opportunities to exchange experience, to get qualification and participate in international conferences;

–  To revive interest of school teachers in historical scientific researches and their involvement in such researches;

– To connect museums, historical- ethnographical, archeological centers with the system of education.

  The “Institute” will ensure:

– The participation of “Institute” members into creating and developing the modern didactic science of history teaching in Georgia;
– – The participation of the “Institute” members into establishing the national research centre of history textbook; with a perspective to establish such a centre in the south Caucasus too;

– -To involve the “Institute” members into creating and expertising of history textbooks for schools;

– The participation of the “Institute” members in the re-qualification of history teachers;

– The use of the “Institute” library by the “Association” collaborators.
